Cynthia Villamizar serves as the Director of Marketing & Communications at SF New Deal where she works towards the vision of a vibrant San Francisco with thriving small businesses and strong neighborhoods. Her passion for this work is inspired by her Colombian and Ecuadorian parents who got their start in the US working for small businesses – her mother as a cake decorator and her father as a jeweler.     Cynthia earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and Spanish at Vanderbilt University. She was also a Fulbright scholar in Mexico City and lived in over 10 cities around the world before starting to build in San Francisco, where she’s lived for eight years, working at Bay Area companies, including Google and Cookies.
