Melissa Vergara joined the County of San Mateo Office of Community Affairs in August 2019 as a Management Fellow. She developed and implemented outreach and communication efforts for the 2020 U.S. Census, helping San Mateo County lead the state in self-response rates. Currently, she is working on digital communications and outreach for COVID-19 efforts. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History of Art and Visual Culture from the University of California Santa Cruz and recently completed her Master of Public Administration from Cal State Fullerton. Melissa aims to engage and empower communities on the foundation of equity. In her free time, she likes to bike and has made it a goal to visit every park in San Francisco.
