Mayra Chavez, is from Oakland and went to Oakland public schools. After school, she went to community college and transferred to UCSC. There she majored in Sociology & Latin American & Latino Studies with a minor in Education. After college, she returned home and worked for my family at their small business. Mayra later began to work for an immigration attorney as a legal assistant and a year later began to work for Oakland City Government. Currently she lives in Oakland and still also also works with her family.
