Kristin Hogan Schildwachter is a strategic communications expert currently serving in public sector emergency management with the City and County of San Francisco Department of Emergency Management. She approaches every communications project with critical thinking and vision to ensure communication products and tactics are developed strategically, targeted carefully and integrated seamlessly. She currently serves as the External Affairs Manager for the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management where she develops and executes communication strategies that support the department’s mission to promote a prepared and resilient San Francisco. In her role with city government, she is responsible for establishing and cultivating strategic partnerships with fellow city departments and agencies, elected officials and community-based organizations. She also works with organizations throughout the region, state and the country to bolster emergency management collaboration in the realm of strategic communications planning.
