Kristin Hanaoka has worked in the public sector for 14 years. She began her federal career at the US Census Bureau, working as a project manager of a national hospital survey. After working in various parts of the country she settled in San Francisco, where she currently works for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection. As a management and program analyst in the Compliance department, she tracks and confirms the VA’s implementation of recommendations from various audits and investigations completed by external stakeholders. Kristin earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder, and her master’s degree in Sociology from American University. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors with her pup.
