Atasi Uppal is Senior Policy Attorney at National Center for Youth Law (NCYL). She leads policy and litigation strategies in multiple states to uphold the civil and constitutional rights of youth in the education and juvenile justice systems. She strives to connect her work to the goals of communities of color, utilizing her skills as an advocate to complement their visions for change. Prior to joining NCYL, Atasi was a public defender in Massachusetts. Atasi has toddler twins, who are a constant source of laughter and exhaustion. She is a proud Missourian and the child of immigrants from Odisha, India.
