Coro California’s new Workforce Leadership Network has launched!
The Workforce Leadership Network (WLN) program aims to develop a resilient network of leaders who can communicate effectively across organizations, seize opportunities for bold action and collaborations, and foster relationships and mutual understanding among varied stakeholders. In partnership with our sister center in Southern California, the WLN program brings together 46 workforce leaders representing 42 nonprofit, private, and public sector organizations across Greater Oakland and Los Angeles County.
Since mid-October, our inaugural cohort has been learning and applying Coro tools and human-centered design frameworks to address critical workforce issues — ranging from the need for more equitable hiring practices, to improving stakeholder engagement, to fostering professional empowerment for marginalized individuals, to building a more inclusive culture in the workforce development field.
In addition to addressing challenges in workforce development, participants are building their leadership skills by practicing communication, giving and receiving feedback, and enhancing their capacity to work collaboratively to effect positive change.
