Rose CadeSan Mateo County

Rose Cade is dedicated to expanding access to safe, stable, and equitable housing and to building strong, vibrant communities where people of all backgrounds can thrive. Her affordable housing career began in 1992 as the founding Director of Fairbanks Neighborhood Housing Services in Alaska and has spanned both nonprofit and public sectors. Her leadership experience includes roles at Anchorage Neighborhood Housing Services and Enterprise Community Partners, where she supported cities, counties, and community-based organizations across Northern California and Nevada. Since joining the San Mateo County Department of Housing in 2015, Rose has advanced from HCD Specialist to Deputy Director. In her current role, she leads major housing initiatives, including the County’s Homekey Program, securing six state awards to support interim shelter, navigation services, and permanent supportive housing. She also led efforts to fund a manufactured housing community in Half Moon Bay for agricultural workers and their families. Rose is driven by innovative problem-solving and a strong commitment to housing equity.
