Eileen “Rae” Sochia grew up in Ithaca, New York, and moved to Oakland in 2013 to attend Mills College, where she earned both her bachelor’s degree and MBA. She has worked at The Unity Council since 2020 on both preservation and new construction projects. Prior to TUC, Rae worked at Mercy Housing on a variety of affordable housing developments. Rae lives in Oakland with their partner, four cats, and a dog. If you ask about them, she will happily share a photo. On weekends, she enjoys hiking the East Bay hills with her dog and partner
