Exposure has a dual meaning in CORO programs. CORO participants are exposed to the diversity of their fellow classmates fostering understanding and empathy. They learn from those whose life experiences, knowledge, skills, and values are often very different from their own.
Exposure also refers to the individuals and networks participants engage with throughout their program. Relationships that originate through CORO often take on a life of their own, enduring and evolving over time, changing the way graduates perceive themselves and their role in their communities, organizations, and institutions.
